How our prices work
- Desk prices are starting prices (the BPM refund service has a fixed fee), including VAT where applicable, and apply during office hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 16:30.
- On Sundays we are open by appointment at a higher rate: call or WhatsApp first for the final price. A surcharge may apply outside office hours.
- The additional rates are guide prices. A written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always takes precedence.
- You always know the price in advance. You can pay in cash or by bank transfer.
Surcharges on the export price: Sundays, post, heavy vehicles
- Outside office hours. On Sunday we open by appointment at a higher rate; call or message first for the final price.
- Postal delivery. The same postal rate applies within the Netherlands and abroad.
- Heavy or unusual vehicles. For motorhomes, vans and trucks over 2,500 kg, and for vehicles with foreign documents, the price is on request.
CoC assistance is available on request, because the route varies by manufacturer and importer. We always confirm the price beforehand, and you pay in cash or by bank transfer. The written confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping is what counts.
Postal rates, also for a car already in Italy
The export document by post costs €120 with standard insured DHL shipping (about 5 working days) and €150 with DHL Express (about 1 working day), within the Netherlands and to Italy alike. Export insurance and plates by post cost €150 on top of the document service, and a complete package by post comes to about €270 to €300. These postal rates also apply when the car is already in Italy and the export is handled remotely. Contact us first; you hear the price before anything is sent.
Italian registration charges (government, not ours)
These charges are set by the Italian authorities. We do not collect, calculate or pay them, and there is no fixed total.
- Motorizzazione fees. According to the MIT national price list (English version), registering a vehicle from another EU country (tariff code N054) costs €10.20 in diritti, €64.00 in imposta di bollo and €41.78 for a rectangular number plate. Aosta has different plate prices, and for Sicily, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trento and Bolzano the list refers you to the local office.
- PRA emolumenti. Charged by the PRA on top of the Motorizzazione fees; we give no amount.
- IPT (registration tax in Italy). The provincial Imposta Provinciale di Trascrizione depends on the vehicle type, the power (kW) and the province. Terms like 'IPT auto' and 'calcolo IPT' refer to this tax; we give no amounts or calculations.
- Bollo auto (Italian road tax). Paid every year to the region; the first payment follows shortly after registration and varies by region.
- VAT. Due on a 'new' means of transport; a private buyer of an ordinary used car usually pays none.
- Other possible costs. A sworn translation, a revisione or a visita e prova. Ask the STA or the PRA office which amounts apply to your vehicle and province.
The steps behind these charges are on importing a car to Italy, and reclaiming Dutch registration tax is covered on BPM refund on export.
